Anthropology News (AN) is the official newspaper of AAA, and is published nine times a year as a complimentary member benefit. Anyone may also order back issues of AN, from Volume 41 on. The AAA Guide is a directory of anthropology departments, programs, and people, which is updated annually; an e-guide is also available online for all members. A compilation of the Abstracts of the AAA Annual Meeting are also produced each year. For more information on ordering AN, the AAA Guide, and the Abstracts of the AAA Annual meeting, please see our guide to AAA serials. We produce 21 journals and newsletters through our publishing partner Wiley-Blackwell. All AAA members receive a subscription to our flagship journal, American Anthropologist (along with the AAA newsletter, Anthropology News), and members of individual sections that sponsor journals will receive a copy of that journal as well. Non-members may also order subscriptions through Wiley-Blackwell. Anyone can also order back issues through Wiley-Blackwell. Finally, content from both our current titles and our cease titles may be acccessed through our online platform Anthrosource, which is also a member benefit. Please visit our page on AAA Journals Published by Wiley-Blackwell for more information on ordering subscriptions and back issues of these journals.
Periodically, the AAA will produce special publications, such as books and monographs. Many of these publications can still be ordered from the AAA offices; for more information, please visit our page on AAA Books and Monographs. You can also learn about the history of these special publications. Some AAA sections have ongoing series with academic presses, including the Contemporary Anthropology of Religion series from the Society for the Anthropology of Religion. These books must be purchased through the partner presses.
To date, the AAA has put out three DVDs. Two DVDs ("Anthropology: Real People, Real Careers" and "Beyond Ethnography: Corporate and Design Anthropology") are focused on careers in Anthropology, and produced by the AAA Academic Affairs department. The third DVD is a educational dual disc that is meant to accompany our public education project "RACE: Are We So Different?". More information on our dvds can be found at AAA DVDs.
