contributions of members like you. Make
your contribution today.
Cast Your Vote Today! It's
time to vote. AAA has a new voting system. Everything you need
will open from the AAA homepage,
or you can log-in directly through AnthroGateway and
once you have selected AAA candidates through that ballot, you
will go on to the section candidates on those ballots (for
those you belong to) where you will be asked to vote also for
bylaw changes and in one case a
resolution.

New AN Website to
Launch in September AN announces the plan
to create the new site anthropology-news.org. This added
service will help members get more of their work, ideas and
analyses published on a faster timeline. The new website is
the first step in AN's long term shift to a news
source about anthropology by and for AAA members. Read more on
the AAA blog, including how to become an AN
online contributing editor or columnist.
Change in U.S. Census Classification
AAA experts on Language and Social Justice from the
Committee for Human Rights and Society
for Linguistic Anthropology have been working with
the U.S. Census Bureau for several years to spur terminology
change in the tabulation of household language data. Through
extensive communication with the U.S. Census Bureau and with
the support of the Census Advisory Committee on the Hispanic
Population, the U.S. Census Bureau agreed to eliminate the
phrase "linguistic isolation" from its products issued
starting in 2011. Click
here for complete details.
