Each year, representatives of the American Anthropological Association (AAA) participate in Humanities Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill, a two-day event for educators, scholars and other professionals to promote federal support for research, education and public programs in the humanities. This year, AAA Executive Director Bill Davis and Director of Public Affairs Damon Dozier represented the association. During the event, they participated in organized meetings with several members of Congress and were briefed on a variety of legislative and policy issues related to research and funding opportunities in the humanities. As in past years, the AAA co-sponsored the event.
